Millions of families around the world share the hobbies (some may call them passions) of boating and RVing. We discovered a unique campground where you can combine your love of RVing and boating at the same place and the same time.
Its called Hammock Harbour RV Park and its located in Orillia, Ontario, just an hour north of Toronto. This unique facility gives you the combined opportunity to dock your boat directly beside your RV. There are several RVers who tow their boats behind their motorhomes. This friendly family run park even has waterfront cabins and Yurt rentals for those who are boaters but don’t have their RV with them at that particular time.
Even though it is peaceful and quiet at the park, all of the conveniences of modern day life are close at hand including gas stations, restaurants and major malls and famous name retailers.
On our visit, we witnessed families walk directly from their RV to their boat, which was docked just a few feet away. The best of both worlds for sure.
Also located at the same park are several seasonal sites and many park model RVs where families spend the entire summer and have their boat docked immediately adjacent to their home.
Traditional camping sites, without boating facilities are also available at this convenient location.
Hammock Harbour sits on Lake Couchiching, where you have access to the Trent-Severn Waterway allowing you, via an extensive and world acclaimed lock system, to travel from Lake Ontario to Lake Huron, a journey of 225 miles through 45 fascinating locks, 39 swing bridges, 160 dams and control structures and more impressive rivers and lakes than any boater or RVer can hope to completely discover.
This park is also located just a few minutes from one of the largest casinos in Canada, Casino Rama, where you can safely and conveniently park your RV during your visit.
Hammock Harbour RV Park is a member of the Ontario Private Campground Owners Association. The province of Ontario has over 450 private campgrounds, rental trailers, cabins and cottages to choose from.
