2018-22 – What’s HOT for 2019 and More on this ROTV Show!

On this week’s show we head back to the 2018 RV industry Open House in Elkhart, Indiana to check out new offerings that many of the manufacturers are bringing out for next year. We're scouting for ‘What’s Hot for 2019!”.

As we mentioned before, this is an industry only event and it is huge. The Open House stretches from the RVMH Museum and Northern Indiana Convention Center out to County Rd. 17 and up County Rd. 6 for at least a mile. In other words, you have to drive some if you expect to see most of the displays.

We start off at the Winnebago area on County Rd. 6 where we catch up with Bob Zagami and John DiPietro as they check out a couple of Winnebago’s new offerings.

John was interested in the new Vita and Porto class C motorhomes built on the Mercedes Sprinter chassis. These two twin units had a lot of interesting features and common sense designing. As John mentions, Winnebago definitely listened to its customers when designing the VITA and Porto.

We found Bob scouting out the new Micro Minnie 5th wheel trailer that will set the pace for this new size 5th wheel...especially with all the features built in and a suggested retail price at about $30,000. When’s the last time you found a new fifth-wheel for anywhere near $30,000? You have to check this out for yourself. www.winnebagoind.com

Forest River

Up Rt. 6 is the Forest River facility where we found Jeff Johnston scouting out the NO-Bo (No Boundaries) display where he found their newest model called the “NEST’. What made this model so interesting and obviously where the name Nest came from is the 2-person sleeping tent hanging off the roof!

This tent unit will hold up to 500 lbs and can be easily opened and closed within a minute or so. The Nest is virtually a small toy hauler that allows you to hall a full size ‘quad’ and when the quad is out, the area becomes a good size sleeping area complete with a nice table setup. www.forestriverinc.com

Rugged Mountain

Heading back to the RVMH area, Jeff spotted an eye catching new truck camper built by Rugged Mountain.

The outside was somewhat standard looking with a few unique features but it’s when you looked at the interior that you got that WOW factor.

Not only was the unit spacious, but the overall design and use of new interior materials definitely sets this truck camper apart from its competitors. www.ruggedmountaincustomrv.com

Be sure to check out this week’s show and see these new models for yourself and tell us your opinions.
