Leff-T’s Steak House & Grill – a Local Favorite in Dewey, AZ

Unless you know a 'local' to point you in the right direction, you could miss out on the best tasting steak in the area! We think Leff-T's Steak House and Grill is a don't miss for local flavor and taste!

Leff-T's Steak house and GrillLocated on Route 69, in Dewey/Humbolt as you're heading from Phoenix to Flagstaff, this is an easy place to stop for a great lunch or dinner. It's located in a small strip-mall (150 AZ-69), so pay attention!

It's described as a "Western-themed place with an easygoing ambiance, meat-centric American menu &lounge." The servers come with smiles, great service, 'blingy' belts and western wear, from what we have experienced! And the walls are covered with license plates from every state in the US and more! Plenty of eye candy!

Leff-T's Steak house and GrillAs Laurie and I come into town from the Phoenix Sky Harbor airport heading to our winter home in Prescott Valley, we almost always stop by Leff-T's. Laurie orders her beef 'as rare as you'll put it out'. When that rare is almost blue, you know they are confident, and certified, to serve a 'rare as you'll put it out' request.

On the complete opposite end, if you avoid meat and want a veggie selection, there is classic fettuccini alfredo, salads and meatless sandwiches but this is really a burger and steak place.

Within easy walking distance, on the same side of the highway, is a Chevron gas and diesel station (address is 2735 S Hwy 69 Humboldt, AZ) with some parking suitable for a good-sized rig. You can see it to the left in the street photo above. A little further walk and there are many RV services such as RV Washing, Storage, Service, etc. It's never quite clear to us what is Humboldt and what is Dewey and you often hear the name together; Dewey/Humboldt. Probably a cool story there somewhere!

So, if you find yourself in the area, treat yourself to lunch or dinner at Leff-T's and tell them Rollin On TV recommends them! You can also check them out on their Facebook Page

  2. Dewey-Humboldt was two separate communities that incorporated into one Town a little over 10 years ago. In the past Dewey was more of a farming / ranching community and Humboldt was the mining / smelter town. Together they have a fascinating history that also includes King Woolsey’s Ranch, the first non-native settlement in Arizona. You can learn more about this unique history of farming, ranching and mining at the Dewey-Humboldt Museum on Main Street. Just turn east off Rt 69 onto Main Street (at the light), go a couple blocks and the Museum is on the right, in the “Old Bank Building” built in 1918. The Museum is open Thursday – Saturday 10 AM – 4 PM. The Museum is operated by the Dewey-Humboldt Historical Society – admission is free, the experience is priceless.

    • Thanks so much for this info David. Laurie and I will be sure to stop in at the museum!

  3. Typo – the Museum is open Thursday – Saturday from 10 AM – 4 PM. Please note the correction!

Been there a few times and is always good. In fact a couple next to us was not happy with the way their steak was done. They redid it for him and the manager came out to make sure he was happy . That ,to me is customer service. Sometimes the wait is a bit long but, well worth it.

    • Thank you for the comment Kathy! That personal attention makes so much difference.

  6. Great food and the best server ever, PAMELA JENSEN !!
