Introducing our Two New Pets
Laurie has had Boston Terriers since 2000. She’s had Dunkin, Harry, Murphy, Trixie, Sallie, Rue. They were all shown in the Boston Terrier show ring (except for Dunkin).
When I came along, Trixie and Sallie were the first two Boston’s I’d ever known. When they went to doggie heaven we were lucky to be offered Rue from our breeder friends.
Well, I quickly learned why Boston Terriers are called ‘The American Gentlemen’. Boston Terriers are the first AKC breed started in America, Boston to be specific, in 1870. French Bulldogs provide the foundation for the Boston Terrier. Bred down in size from fighting dogs of the Bull and Terrier types, the Boston Terrier originally weighed up to 44 pounds (20 kg) (Olde Boston Bulldogge). Today’s Boston Terrier show dogs weigh in about 10-25 lbs. What we love is they are small dogs but very big in personality. Smart and very trainable.
We had Rue when we started working with Rollin’ On TV so we came up with Two Gals and a Dog for our branding. Two years ago we started the search for one more BT to keep Rue company. In this clip we explain how we ended up with two new little girls!
And now you know the rest of the story!
